At ICC we hope you will find welcome, rest, and nourishment for your life and faith.
At the heart of ICC is the great commission of Jesus that calls us to participate in God’s loving work in the world. We seek to proclaim the good news in word and deed, teach and baptize in the name of the Triune God, and make disciples of all nations.
At ICC, we experience the reality of new life in faith, and we share that life with all of God’s children. We offer our time, talent and gifts in order to live faithfully, and grow in our discipleship. As we journey through this life, sharing our gifts with one another, like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we get to experience the presence of Christ in our midst.
We profess the age-old creeds of the Christian faith, which affirm our belief in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We receive God’s Word for us through Holy Scripture, and the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and the Holy Communion.
We express our faith through regular worship in God’s Word for us through Holy Scripture, and the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.
As Christians, we gather in God’s house to listen to God’s Word for us in scripture, and respond with praise and thanksgiving. We seek closeness to God through participation in the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. We share our faith with the world through daily prayer, proclamation of the Gospel, service to others, and by working for peace and justice in all the Earth.
Our hearts burn with joy, fueled by our shared experience of the God who makes all things new.
Whether you are visiting Copenhagen, or call Denmark your home, we invite you to come and participate in our community of faith. Come, grow with us!
Welcoming, English-speaking, Ecumenical
The International Church of Copenhagen (ICC) is an international, English-speaking, ecumenical ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, in cooperation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark.
On any given Sunday, our congregation consists of Christians representing 20 or more nations, nearly as many languages, and a variety of cultures and Christian experiences.
ICC’s life of worship, education and fellowship functions primarily in English, as an attempt to be hospitable to people of faith from many nations and cultures who may use English as their second or first language. People of all languages are welcome, and more than likely, you will find someone in our community of faith who speaks your language.
“Ecumenical” describes the fact that we are a community of faith made up of Christians from many different denominations. While historically a ministry of the Lutheran Church, ICC is made up of Mainline Protestants, Roman Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Evangelicals and many others, bound by the Holy Spirit in one Lord, one faith and one baptism. All are invited into our fellowship, and are welcome at the Lord ’s table of grace—there is always room for more.
